From January to June 2014 I had the pleasure of being part of the team assembled by Connect Group to build the new responsive Jaguar Land Rover website.
As a Front End Developer, I personally created 17 of 66 components, writing concise and efficient JavaScript (incl. jQuery), Sass (CSS) and HTML5.
All of the JavaScript modules were constructed as stateful jQuery plugins and all of the Sass as partials, using placeholders and mixins.
Grunt was used as a task runner, via Node.js (I contributed to the Gruntfile, too). We interfaced with a Java back-end running Jenkins and Maven – code was injected into pages via the innovative Thymeleaf system.
The software development methodology used throughout was TDD/Agile, with daily scrum meetings, and we used Jira as the issue tracking system.
I greatly enjoyed being part of this project – it was a privilege to work on such a prestigious brand and great to see the site go live on time.
